AI Unlocked:
Unlocking Creative Potential with Google Veo 3
On November 14 we hosted a webinar with Omid Yazana, CEO and Co-founder of AlphaWave (and former Google Product Lead for YouTube ads and generative AI video creation tools), for our eighth AI Unlocked webinar to discuss the groundbreaking creative potential unlocked by the latest Google GenMedia tools, specifically Google Veo 3 and Imagen 4.
Here is why businesses can no longer afford to ignore this technology:
A Leap in Realism and Scaling
The speed of development in generative AI video has been massive in the last year. Omid Yazana, whose background included analyzing top-performing YouTube ads, noted that the tools available just two to three years ago were not effective enough for external use. Today, Veo 3 is considered quite advanced in terms of realism and physics compared to other video generation tools available.
AlphaWave now helps companies across Europe and US assess opportunities to implement AI solutions, focusing on making video content more efficient, effective, and scalable.
Key Takeaways on Quality and Efficiency:
- Mind the Gap! Videos created just one year ago show a significant difference compared to current output, highlighting the exponential pace of improvement. It’s only a matter of time before it becomes difficult to tell the difference between AI-generated and actual content.
- From Performance to Awareness. While AI videos were initially embraced for “performance-driven campaigns” (where the message/product mattered more than the production value), the increased realism of Veo 3 means customers are now confidently exploring AI for brand awareness objectives as well.
- Real-World Scaling. Brands like the fashion house and Daily Paper are already using fully AI-generated content (including AI-generated people and locations) to scale content for new markets, like launching campaigns in the US without the budget for an entire physical video shoot.

Unlocking New Use Cases
The latest models offer powerful, practical tools for content creators:
- Localization. This is a crucial condition for scaling across different markets. Veo 3 allows creators to localize video campaigns with specific languages, realistic voices, and precise lip sync. This enables campaigns to scale globally.
- Image to Video: Companies that have large libraries of existing product images can now bring those static images to life as engaging videos.
- Advanced Prompting: The primary method remains Text-to-Video. Creators can control granular elements like the subject, action, scene, audio, camera angles, visual styles, and temporal elements to ensure the output is as specific as possible.
- New Ingredient Feature: The latest version allows users to provide a series of related images (an “ingredient”) alongside a text prompt (including requested soundtrack and voiceover) and let the tool generate a cohesive video.
The Essential Reality Check
While these tools provide a scalable solution and can help businesses be more efficient with their budgets, no AI tool is flawless yet!
It is essential to understand that generative models can “hallucinate”. Examples of errors can include physical impossibilities, such as cars floating on water, or strange product defects.
This means human review is still necessary before approving and publishing AI-generated content.
